C. T. Belt Buckle Kingman Turquoise Oxblood Coral Sterling Silver Classic Navajo
Calvin Toddy, (1955 -) Navajo, is the son of famous artist Beatien Yazz. He lives on the Navajo reservation in Chinle, Arizona.
He is a silversmith as well as a painter who works in oil, acrylic, watercolor, silver and gemstone. He has been a constant award winner at the Gallup Inter-Tribal Indian Ceremonial since 1985. He was selected as the poster artist for that organization for the year 1995. As a young man he was a bull rider and continues to be a rancher to this day.
Calvin Toddy hand crafted this beautiful classic Navajo belt buckle. The buckle is stamped "Sterling" and engraved C. Notice how all the Kingman turquoise stones are color matched, and each of the small stones have a sterling silver "raindrop" between each of them. The base of the belt buckle is oxidized which makes the turquoise stones really stand out. The oxblood coral chunk is a perfect counterbalance to the turquoise. The sterling leaves are finely done and distinctive to Calvin Toddy. Truly made with the eye of an artist. The carrier will accept a belt up to 1 3/4. All in all a buckle you can be proud to wear. Measures 3 1/4" wide x 2 3/4" tall Center turquoise stone measures 23 mm x 13mm. Oxblood coral measures 23 mm x 16 mm.
